2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLC 53 SUV and Coupe: Performance Highlights

The 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLC 53 SUV and Coupe bring a new wave of performance, headlined by a reworked engine and sharper handling dynamics. Engine and Transmission

Mercedes-AMG® engineers in Affalterbach reworked the AMG®-enhanced 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine for improved throttle response and torque delivery. Equipped with an exhaust-gas turbocharger and electric auxiliary compressor, the engine produces 443 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, with up to 472 lb-ft briefly available through Overboost. It pairs with an AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® TCT 9G transmission, while a new exhaust system gives the Mercedes-AMG® GLC 53 an even more distinctive soundtrack.

Handling and Drive Modes

AMG® RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive damping works with the AMG® High Performance braking system and fully variable 4MATIC® all-wheel drive to support confident performance. Standard 2.5-degree rear-axle steering also enhances agility and maneuverability. Drivers can tailor the vehicle through AMG® DYNAMIC SELECT®, while the available AMG® DYNAMIC PLUS® Package adds an electronically controlled rear-axle locking differential, the RACE drive program, and Drift Mode.

On the Road

A few more highlights round out the performance story for the Mercedes-AMG® GLC 53:

  • 0–60 mph in an estimated 4.1 seconds with RACE START® from the available AMG® DYNAMIC PLUS® Package
  • Electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, increasing to 167 mph with the AMG® DYNAMIC PLUS® Package
  • 48-volt integrated starter-generator can provide an additional 23 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of electric boost at lower engine speeds
  • Available AMG® Real Performance Sound for an even more distinctive performance soundtrack
