2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan

Many car companies are vying to be the top maker of luxury electric vehicles. While Mercedes-Benz has a years-long head start on building desirable luxury vehicles, the upstart Lucid is trying to be hot on its heels. Here, Mercedes-Benz of Los Angeles compares the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan to the new Lucid Air to see how these cars compare.

Space and Comfort

One of the highlights of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan is its extremely comfortable cabin. It has plenty of room for five people, and the seats are plush and supportive. Leather upholstery and power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats are standard.

The Lucid Air can seat five, but because it’s not as roomy, the second row can fit two passengers; a third leaves everyone feeling cramped. Synthetic leather upholstery is standard, and heating and ventilation components require an upgrade.

Tech Features

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan also outperforms if technological features are a high priority. Stretching across almost the entire dashboard is the fantastically futuristic-looking 56-inch-wide Hyperscreen™, which consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch touchscreen MBUX® infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch front passenger touchscreen. Other built-in amenities include wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, HD and satellite radio, and a 15-speaker Burmester® surround-sound stereo.

The Lucid Air doesn’t have anything resembling the Hyperscreen™. Its standard stereo has only nine speakers, and Android Auto™ isn’t currently available.

Safety Systems

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan is well-equipped in the safety department. Every model has the most modern systems, including forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and a surround-view camera. The Lucid Air has some of the same features, but a surround-view parking camera isn’t standard.
