2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. BMW 3 Series

One of the pleasures of shopping for a luxury sedan is the wealth of choices. Picking just one, however, can be difficult. Mercedes-Benz of Los Angeles offers this comparison of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series so you can make an informed buying decision.
Space and Comfort
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a surprisingly large cabin that fits five passengers with room to spare. Rear-row legroom is especially impressive; even taller passengers will find plenty of space in which to stretch out. Standard features include synthetic leather upholstery and power-adjustable and heated front seats. The BMW 3 Series also has two rows, but only four of its passengers will have much room; heated front seats also require an upgrade.
Tech Features
The technology found in the 2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is state-of-the-art. The infotainment system is quick-responding and operates with an 11.9-inch touchscreen and voice commands. Other features include:
- Wireless device charging
- 3 USB ports
- Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™
- Biometric memory settings
- Wi-Fi® hot spot
- HD and satellite radio
- Bluetooth®
- Available 17-speaker 710-watt Burmester® 3D sound system
While the BMW 3 Series has some of these features, it falls short in a few respects. There are only two USB ports, wireless charging is optional, and its optional harman/kardon® sound system has fewer speakers (15) and lower wattage (464).
Safety Systems
Safety is another notable attribute of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Every model comes with these systems:
- Blind spot monitoring
- Front and rear parking sensors
- Automatic high-beam headlights
- Rain-sensing windshield wipers
- Forward collision warning
- Pedestrian detection
- Forward automatic emergency braking
- Driver-attention alert
- Vehicle exit warning
Blind spot monitoring and front and rear parking sensors are absent from the BMW sedan’s standard features.
